St. Johns County is launching a new transportation option for residents and visitors of St. Augustine. This new program is called Reach the Beach and will provide beach shuttles, extended hours for some beaches, and new ways to receive beach access updates and service information. St. Augustine Beach is a popular place to enjoy the sun and sand, especially for the upcoming holiday weekend. The popularity of our beaches has increased the demand for off-beach parking which is projected to exceed capacity this weekend. The County is taking big steps to address the problem of long wait times for beach access and parking. VeloFest is excited to see this new transportation option make it easier for for residents and visitors of St. Johns County to enjoy our beautiful beaches!
With the introduction of this new shuttle program there will be less congestion on the roads and more options to ride your bike safely to the beach. VeloFest encourages you and your family to ride your bikes or grab a shuttle and enjoy the beach without the stress of parking!
St. Johns County will offer a free shuttle service to Mickler’s Beachfront Park and the St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday.St. Johns County is offering a free shuttle service to Mickler’s Beachfront Park and St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier 10 a.m.-4 p.m. from Saturday, Sept. 5, to Monday, Sept. 7.
The shuttle to Mickler’s Beachfront Park with take visitors from Cornerstone Park, 1046 A1A North, Ponte Vedra, and the beachfront park and back. The Pier shuttle will take visitors from St. Augustine Beach City Hall, 2200 SR A1A South, and the Pier parking lot and back.
