Velo Fest Community Initiative has teamed up with The Visitor Center and Tourist Development Council of St. John’s County to bring you the St. John’s County Bike Route Map. We are so grateful to have this opportunity to create such an important piece of our city’s culture. Through this map and the Velo Fest initiative we aim to change the way people think about cycling in order to make St. John’s County a safer more educated County for cyclist and driver’s alike. The bike map is the first one created in nearly 10 years.
We will be utilizing the TPO Bike Study along with local knowledge to provide a tool that will make cycling more fun and accepted throughout St. John’s County. With the support of local businesses we will help to educate individuals on the importance of following bicycle laws, and map out a road to change for cyclist in and around St. John’s County. The map will be printed and distributed for free at the VCB as well as locations that sponsor the VCB. Businesses who decide to take part in this project will be rewarded with the chance to have their business on the map as well as some other great advertising outlets provided by Velo Fest. Thanks so much to Commissioner Nancy Sikes-Kline, executive director TDC Glenn Hastings, and executive director Richard Goldman of the VCB for partnering with Velo Fest and the community to create this bike map, the beginning of a new road for St. John’s County.
